SUMMARY:The New Overtime Rule and How It Will Affect Your Nonprofit Organization
DESCRIPTION:The Department of Labor (DOL) is raising the minimum salary requirement under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), with the changes taking effect as soon as July 1, 2024. This is a critical development that will impact all organizations. We encourage you to promptly assess all your positions to identify those that will be affected by this change.\nIn this upcoming webinar, June 26th, from 1-2 pm, we will provide an overview of this new requirement and how churches and ministries are affected by it. This includes:\n• Salary requirements for exempt employees\n• Employees who work in Washington state\n• Ministers who qualify for ministerial exception\nWe will also do a brief overview of the following compensation laws to help determine which employees are affected by this new requirement, including:\n• Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)\n• Washington Minimum Wage Act (WMWA)\n• Ministerial exception\nNote: CPE credit is available for those who attend the live webinar. CPE codes must be submitted within 1 week of the presentation.\nLast year, we conducted a highly informative three-part webinar series titled ‘Employee Compensation for Churches and Ministries ‘, which delved deep into these labor laws. We highly recommend that you take advantage of this valuable resource by visiting our digital library ( https://bnb.cpa/webinars_on_demand/ ) on our website to register and watch these (free) webinars.\nWebinar CPE info:\n\nPrerequisites and preparation: Watch/Review 3-part series, Employee Compensation for Churches and Ministries (Recommended)\nCPE credit available: 1 hour\nFormat: Live webinar presentation\n\n\nTo register for this webinar, click on this link ( https://battershellnichols.webinarninja.com/live-webinars/10582704/register ).
